Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and singer. She is also co-starring in Prince's 1984 film, Purple Rain. She is best known as the main character in the 1984 Prince Purple Rain film and lead vocalist in the girl group Apollonia 6 In the 1980s, the actress-singer Prince was christened Apollonia to be one of the many female performers to gain from their association with the prince. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress, born in the city of Santa Monica, California in 1959. Her beginnings included working as a television model. In 1984 she landed the title of female lead in Prince's Purple Rain (during which time the singer altered her name) and was replaced by Vanity as a member of the female group Vanity 6 performing with them on the screen with the title Apollonia 6. They scored a small hit with Sex Shooter but it was in the role of Prince's duet partner on Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she achieved an impact on the charts. Kotero and Prince have a disagreement over her future career. Apollonia6 broke up and Kotero was not able to continue her relationship with Prince. Kotero then appeared in a few minor films during the 80s (reportedly declining an offer to star in the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon), before settling on an evening-time part in the drama Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia began her professional debut in 1988. But the R&B/dance album, which was rather pedestrian and did not impress people who were buying music at that at the time, soon vanished. The singer remained busy (if a little under the radar) in the role of actress throughout the following decade, appearing in small television roles and minor films as well as releasing the exercise film. Apollonia's album Stay With Me was released in 1997. After returning to school, she where she received her diploma in making films. She then formed her firm and began working as a child's TV host. Apollonia has many hats. A former model, actress and singer as well as manager of talent. Her role as an actor in the 1984 film Purple Rain made her a star. Kotero has appeared in numerous other films and TV shows such as Black Magic Woman and The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model.
