
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the number one spot in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the time and played a major role in winning the league title. Morgan was only 22 at the time, and was the youngest member of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. She was named to both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she took home the Silver Boot.
